NEXT SUNDAY "FAITH PROMISE" SUNDAY:
"Faith Promise" is a method for everyone - adults, youth, and child-
ren - to have a part in the mission outreach of the Church of the
Nazarene, as well as for the support of our Virginia District, Pen-
sions and Benefits, and to our Eastern Nazarene College located in
Quincy, MA.
New figures have been posted at the front of the sanctuary for this year.
Edward Sharpe, Church Treasurer, reports that the Pensions & Bene-
fit Budget has already been sent in thanks to your faithful giving. This
offering supports our retired ministers.
You will be asked to make a "faith promise" pledge next Sunday. We
need to have $19,000.00 pledged to be given by May 2009, the end
of the church year.
Our giving becomes a blessing to others, a blessing to ourselves, and
glory to God. Be praying about how much you will give.

100TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2008
The Church of the Nazarene will celebrate its 100th
Anniversary on Sunday, October 5. This anniversary
symbolizes the uniting of various groups of Christians.
There were churches from across America that pro-
claimed the need to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior
and allow their hearts and souls to be anointed with the
Holy Spirit.
One hundred years later, the Victoria Church of the
Nazarene will join 18,000 Nazarene Churches in 151
countries in a glorious day of worship.
Our church is making plans for this special occasion
with special music from the choir. Two members of
our church, Franklin Smith and Helen Johnson, will be
sharing some of their memories. We will also be shar-
ing memories submitted to the church by J.E. Fox,
one of our oldest member. The pastor will be sharing
a special message about future plans to reach our
neighbors with the message of Jesus' love.
Following the morning celebration service, all are in-
vited to Johnson Hall for a "spaghetti lunch".
Plan to celebrate with us on this very unique and sa-
cred Sunday. Invite your family and friends and those
you know who have had ties with the Victoria Church
of the Nazarene.
