Blessed is the mother who understands her children,
for she shall inherit a kingdom of memories.
Blessed is the mother who knows how to comfort,
for she shall possess her children's devotion.
Blessed is the mother who guides by the path of
righteousness, for she shall be proud of her offspring.
Blessed is the mother who is never shocked, for she
shall receive confidences.
Blessed is the mother who teaches respect, for she
shall be respected.
Blessed is the mother who emphasizes the good and
minimizes the bad, for in like manner her children
themselves make evaluations.
Blessed is the mother who treats her children as she
would be treated, for her home shall be filled with
happiness.
Blessed is the mother who has character strong enough
to withstand the inconsiderate remarks and resentments
of the growing child for again, in due time, she shall
be honored.

FROM THE PASTOR'S DESK
SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM
"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all
these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:33
If you do not believe that God is the Creator, Sustainer, and
Lord, you will have trouble trusting Him enough to obey
Him when it comes to taking risks that jeopardize your com-
fort, your family, or your life. I don't think we truly believe
until we have risked greatly and God has worked for us.
Faith that we maintain while sitting in a chair without any
danger or vulnerability is not biblical faith at all. Biblical
faith emerges when we take a risk and realize that if we do
not receive divine help, we will be embarrassed.
Dr. E.A. Seamands was a missionary in India. One day a
Hindu merchant who had decided to become a Christian
came to him and told him that he wanted to be baptized.
"Good," said Dr. Seamands. "We will baptize you in the
pool in front of your business on market day."
The Hindu said, "If you do that, everybody in the country-
side will know that I have become a Christian. What will
that do to my business?"
"You don't want to hide the fact that you have become a
Christian, do you? The best thing in the world is to let
everybody know it all at once. It is much less painful that
way." So the Hindu merchant, with fear and trembling,
was baptized that day in front of his business establishment.
The only way you are going to take a risk is if you believe
that God is the Creator, Sustainer, and Lord. Can you truly
say, "Whether you take care of me or not, I am going to
do what you ask".
